UFC Officially Announces Three More Fights For UFC 88

from MMANews.com

The UFC has officially three more fights to their first trek to Atlanta, GA. From UFC.com:

Three of mixed martial arts’ biggest stars” former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin, former PRIDE two-division champ Dan Henderson, and longtime welterweight contender Karo Parisyan will be pushed to the limit in bouts just made official for September 6th’s UFC 88 card in Atlanta.

Franklin will return to the light heavyweight division for the first time in over three years when he takes on The Ultimate Fighter 3 standout Matt ‘The Hammer’ Hamill, who is coming off the biggest win of his career over Tim Boetsch in April.

Henderson looks to fight his way back into the 185-pound title mix when he battles once-beaten grappling wizard Rousimar Palhares, who made quite an impression on UFC fans in May when he submitted out veteran Ivan Salaverry in one round.

Parisyan will also be tested in his welterweight bout against Japan’s Yoshiyuki Yoshida in what may be the greatest clash of judo black belts ever seen in the Octagon.

Tickets are on sale now for UFC 88: Breakthrough, which will be held at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. In the main event, Chuck ‘The Iceman’ Liddell returns to take on unbeaten ‘Sugar’ Rashad Evans.

Ultimate Fighter Season Finale Spoiler!

This is what I could find after much searching online:

I don’t know who wins the C.B. Dollaway vs.  Amir Sadollah fight, but the eventual outcome is the same either way.  Either CB or Amir win, the show is over.  Jesse Taylor kicks out the window in the limo, and who knows what else.  Jesse is eliminated from the finale and from the UFC.  Dana has a third semi final match to determine who will get Jesse’s spot.  So either CB or Amir is already in the finals, whichever man isn’t in the finals faces Tim to determine who gets the other spot.  Tim suffers an arm injury during this match.  The final is a rematch between CB and Amir.  Jesse is gone.  Tim is recovering from the arm injury.

Floyd Mayweather and UFC?

Mike Landau from wrestlingherald.com sent in the following:

I just got off the phone with a source very close to the situation and I am told that Floyd Mayweather and his representatives have been in contact with UFC’s Dana White as late as Wednesday but “possibly as late as last night” according to the source.

UFC is expected to make several announcements on Thursday.

1) Anderson Silva will be fighting in the light heavyweight class
2) Chuck Liddell will fight in the main event on the September pay-per-view in Atlanta

However, the big announcement being rumored is that Floyd Mayweather will be signing or has signed with UFC. For those that did not read our last update, Mayweather announced his retirement from boxing. If this signing turns out to be the case this would be a huge coup for UFC as it would surely attract some of the boxing fans that have not given UFC a chance.
