Mick Foley to TNA?

The Sun out of the UK is reporting a close friend of Mick Foley has informed them that the hardcore icon is headed to TNA Wrestling when his WWE contract expires on September 1st.
Foley’s friend told the Sun, “Mick’s body cannot handle a full time schedule, even in TNA. But he’s hell bent on doing everything he can to further his legacy and put them on the map.
The friend added, “Mick’s plan is to wrestle select dates, like Sting currently does. He feels he will legitimately make a big difference in the way TNA Wrestling is perceived by the public!”
Back in 2005, Foley was in talks wih TNA and was very close to signing with the company before he wound up back in WWE. He did not work this week’s SmackDown! tapings.

WWE releases many Superstars.

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of ECW Superstar Braden Walker as of Aug. 7, 2008, and the release of ECW Superstars Nunzio and James Curtis, Smackdown Superstars Shannon Moore, Domino, and Big Daddy V, and WWE referee Nick Patrick as of Aug. 8, 2008.

WWE wishes them the best in all their future endeavors.

WWE expands Board of Directors.

WWE has announced the expansion of its Board of Directors to 10 today with the addition of the WWE’s Executive Vice President of Television Production,Kevin Dunn, Frank A. Riddick, III and Jeffrey R. Speed. As part of previously announced plans, Robert Bowman has resigned from the Board.

The Company’s Audit Committee will now be chaired by Riddick, with Speed and current Board members David Kenin and Michael Soloman all serving on the committee as well.
